About
History

White Canvas was set-up by Justin Varcoe and Hugo Simpson in 2003 to provide an alternative to traditional marquees. Initially based in London, the draw of the South called for Justin to move to Glastonbury and relocate the company with him. As well as taking staff that have now been with him for over 6 years he also recruited Amy Heal who, with her events experience as well as a degree in marketing, has proved invaluable in running the office, managing events and becoming a key liaison with all clients helping to make each event as unique and personal as we feel it should be.

Justin utilised his design background to produce tents that are beautiful but functional and adhere to the highest British standard. His creations and vivid imagination as well as his experiences in India, now mean that White Canvas have tents to suit every occasion, from beautifully simple garden tents to large elegant Mughal-style marquees. All of our Indian tent structures are modular and highly flexible, meaning they can cater for anything from an intimate dinner party to a large corporate event or wedding. Justin’s designs have led to White Canvas being the ultimate focal point for a stylish event and in huge demand from some of the top party planners in the country. Last year Justin and his partner Fay were commissioned by Olivia Harrison to make a bespoke tent for the George Harrison memorial garden at Chelsea Flower Show.
